Campfire Talk in the Amphitheater

August 12 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

anasazi skipper butterfly

Unofficial “Butterfly Guy,” Steven Cary, will share all sorts of information about Wild River’s very own rare butterfly, the Anasazi race of Yuma Skipper (ochlodes yuma anasazi).  An annual study is taking place at the Wild Rivers area of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument from August 11th-22nd.  Experts from the Natural Resource Institute and our Taos BLM Field Office, along with area volunteers, will be camping at La Junta Point and hiking in at all hours for observations.

Popcorn and lemonade will be provided.
